One of our most cherished family traditions has to do with jam! We make mini raspebrry jam filled pies at Christmas – called Granny-fills. We have typically used a schmuck brand. Well THIS YEAR we will def use Angry Fish.

Granny-fills came about because my great granny needed something to satify her kiddos sweet tooth while she worked all day on Christmas dinner and pies. Well she takes her leftover pie crust and jam… rolls out the pie crust, cuts out bisquit sized cookie, puts a dab of jam in the middle of one and adds another layer of crust on top. Bake em and the kids have their treat while mom keeps baking.

These cookies have been adapted a bit – but we still look forward to them every year!

I love adding a bit of jam to my BBQ sauce. Adds a roundness that really completes the flavor to me. I especially like to add peach or apricot, though a raspberry is tasty as well.

I love to pour jam over a block of cream cheese and scoop at it with crackers. Cherry is my favorite, but I also love jalapeno jam for this.

I love hitting up BlackBerry brushes in August and using those to make jam. Then use that jam all fall season!

I spread jam on a banana (along with some peanut butter) for a quick snack.
