The “Creativity” Issue
As much as I love the great outdoors, summer has also become a time of appreciating art and getting crafty for me. What better time to enjoy art walks and festivals. More importantly, thanks to kids being out of school, its the best time to create with them, whether it is art or in the kitchen (we are big on creating our own recipes and flavor combinations).
What does all of this mean? It means our August 2018 issue is dedicated to creativity. Our county is packed with artists, artisans, craft drinks, and culinary artistry. Creativity is all around us, literally! It’s deeper than that though. Thinking local requires you to get creative, to think outside the big box, when you are shopping, eating, drinking, and playing. Some of the best adventures The SnoCo Kid and I have had are scouring shops for items that fit together for articles or locating local ingredients and produce to use in our recipes. When we do, we have to work for it, we have to get creative, making adjustments on the fly and uncovering possibilities we had never considered.
Those are experiences that I hope to share with all of you, and encourage you to have, not just with those featured in our articles for August, but in your day-to-day life.
